If you’re searching for the holy grail “one ski quiver” you owe it to yourself to try the Kastle FX 84 Ski. Put it on an edge and you can crank a turn that shows its 14 meter radius. I’m just in from skiing the end of a day with typical New England mixed hard pack, powder, scraped off ice, crud and it shines in all that stuff. 84 under foot and the tip rocker combine for very decent carving along with easier transitions... Atomic Crimson Ti Ski = All Around Performance = Fun. And I had a blast. Typical late day New England: powder down the edges and the middle scraped off with a bit of boiler plate peeking thru. Rocker front and rear made surface transitions easy, and didn’t keep it from cutting into the hard stuff. I was on the 170 (usually on 160-163 lengths). That center camber section carved great. If you’re looking for a front side carver the Nordica Firearrow 84 Pro EVO Ski 2014 could be the ski for you. Out on a cold grey day on firm New England groomers this ski bit right in. A full camber lets you count on its entire length. Plenty stiff, and the wood core keeps it smooth. Tip and tail shape go with the 84 under foot for versatility. 15.5 R lets it come around quick. OMG the Kastle MX 83 is outrageous!
OMG the Kastle MX 83 Ski 2014is outrageous. Front side skiing the 153 on a typically firm New England day: beautiful groomed/hard pack/little boiler plate then some sugar pushed to the edge. It’s so well behaved. Initiate turns, easy. Smooth on an edge. Enough energy return to pop tight turns (the r13 is nice). Then carve a big arc, add a little bit of knee input and it tightens right up. No doubts hitting the plowed up sugar.... Keep Reading: OMG the Kastle MX 83 is outrageous!
