Is it time for a new footbed?

Question:

Hello. My custom footbeds are shorter than my liner, enough so that the footbed can slide back and forth (although in molded intuition liners the footbed feels fairly stationary, but in stock liner can slide).

This made doing shell work on my boots a big headache because we weren’t sure where the footbed would be in the boot when skiing (but I eventually figured it out).

Is this enough of an issue I will want to get new footbeds that are the length of my liner?

(The footbeds were made when I had a boot with an unusually-short liner).

Answer:

Thanks for the question Neil.
Sounds like it is time for some new footbeds.  The footbed should be built targeting the specific boot it will be used in. Sometimes you can comfortably move the footbed to a similar size liner. However, a sliding footbed is not ideal. It is much easier to modify a footbed to be smaller. Hard to make that footbed bigger.  And, if it has been more than a few years since the footbed was built, it would be reasonable to re-mold to your current foot and current boot.
Hope this is helpful!
